A number of request have been recieved asking that the Spike Bar be open during the week.

Tuesday and Wednesday are major competition days, however the Spike Bar is booked out on Wednesdays, for the time being.

It has been agreed that the Spike Bar hours will be extended to include Tuesdays, as a trial.  Starting Tuesday 15 April the trial will start with the bar being open between 11 and 5.

For the trial to be a success we (members) need to support the trial and if it is a success other opening times may be introduced.

Please support the trial, have a drink and enjoy one of the Golfer’s Special meals/snacks.

MiScore App Score Submission Issue

MiClub have identified, and subsequently rectified, some issues with the MiScore App.  Some Players have been unable to submit scores on completion of a competition Round.  On April 9th 2025 an update to the MiScore App was released at 10:30am (AWST) to resolve these issues.

Members experiencing the issue should restart their app (Menu > Restart App) to receive the latest version (1.6.8) – this should resolve this issue.

Change to Nearest to Pin record keeping

Change to Nearest to Pin record keeping

Nearest to Pin
Following a recent trial, GLGC will introduce recording Nearest to the Pin via the MiScore App on Saturday, 5 April 2025. This will replace the current method of recording this information on cards located near each Par 3 green.  Note that the Pro Pin on the 17th will remain as a manual record kept on the Pro Pin Card, as we currently do.
Advantages

  • There will be no more hardware on the course.  We won’t need to put out NTP cards on each Par 3s, and hope the last group brings them in, providing they find them and/or are still legible. This will save so much time.
  • Names go directly to the leaderboard, which has a history that can be viewed/reviewed on the MiScore App during the round or in the Competition Leaderboard for admin.
  • Players can see from the tee how close the NTP is – it is recorded in the app.
  • At any time during your round, you can check back on each of the Par 3s to see who is the closest.

Only one person per group needs to use the MiScore app, and the following link indicates what you will see on the app.

https://miscorehelp.miclub.com.au/support/solutions/articles/14000146799-miscore-app-nearpin

The process for using the MiScore App is very similar to the current process, except that measurements will be recorded in the app rather than written on the NTP cards.

As for the current practice, using the flag stick, measurements must still be taken in centimetres (CM).

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me or one of the Match Committee members.
