After a shocking dry period, Shane and his staff are now commencing a course restoration plan.
Approximately 4 tonnes of rye seed is being sown into the fairways and tees, with a number of fairways also being sown with a special grass to deter birds from feeding. The seed needs to be kept wet as it germinates, which means the irrigation will be coming on at various times of the day. Unfortunately, this means the seed becomes sticky and will be moved by tyres, buggy wheels, shoes, etc.
This is where we need your help.
Firstly, we ask that you are all mindful of your own actions while we try to reestablish the fairways – carry plenty of sand and fill your divots, reduce unnecessary practice swings that take divots, and generally be mindful of your actions while on the fairways. Secondly please be vigilant and help us to ensure that no carts are driven on fairways for the next month – if you see someone on the fairways please politely ask them to stick to the paths and the rough. Doing these few small things will give our course the best change to recover, and hopefully be better than ever.
