Important information – General Meeting…..change of date

All Members 

In a recent post I informed you of the need to hold a General Meeting of the Golf Club. The meeting’s purpose is to discuss any concerns members have with the proposed revision/update to the Club’s Objects and Rules recently provided to you (see my recent post on this subject).  I mentioned that the aim of this project was to bring our key guiding documents up-to-date by doing the following:

• updating the Objects and Rules document more generally but particularly in its language and format hopefully making the document easier to read;
• formalising and enabling the pilot we conducted last year with e-voting for Committee members; and
• updating and making current our membership categories.

The General Meeting was scheduled to be held on 2 November at 5,30 pm.  On 23 November we have our yearly Presentation Event (a shotgun start), after which we have a light lunch and make a presentation to the winners of the various Honour Board events, conducted throughout the year.  On reflection, this date offers a prime opportunity (many more members already at the club) to conduct the vote necessary to consider and hopefully accept the Special Resolution regarding the revised Objects and Rules (made available to you in the recent post).  I am expecting our consideration of this matter only to take in the order of 10-15 minutes after which we can move onto the presentations.

Please note the date change for the short General Meeting and have a look over the information provided in the earlier post, in preparation for a vote at the Presentation Event.
