Clearance of Pro Shop Accounts

Clearance of Pro Shop Accounts

Members, please be aware that Murray would like winnings in pro shop accounts (including ball accounts) to be cleared by 15 May 2023.

Accounts not cleared by that date will require individual arrangements with pro shop to access winnings.

Winnings from comps held 1-15 May won’t be credited until after 15 May. Miclub will be upgraded by then so you can access your pro shop accounts online via your member log in, to check winnings and purchases.
Accounts will be cleared annually from 30 September 2024 (NOT this year).

You should receive an email from the pro shop about clearance of accounts soon.

Slow Play

Slow Play

1: KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOURS

2: KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOURS

this is not a typo it is the best way to avoid slow play

3: IT DOES NOT TAKE ALL 4 PLAYERS TO WATCH THE LAST PERSON PUTT.

Once two players have completed putting, they should make their way to the next tee and prepare whilst the others finish. As Club Captain, I would like to see every group do this on every hole (even if you are not falling behind) it is a good practice to get in the habit of doing.

4: ENSURE YOU DO NUMBER 3 FOR EACH HOLE (again, not a typo)

5: HIT A PROVISIONAL BALL IF YOU ARE UNSURE WHERE YOURS FINISHED

(unless you are reasonably certain that it has entered a penalty area) especially in a STROKE ROUND.

6: WALK AT A DESCENT PACE TO YOUR BALL.

So many times a group will walk and congregate around one ball and then the next etc etc. Walk directly to your own ball, play your shot and then help others look if necessary. Everyone meets at the green and tees to “chat”

7: YOU ARE THERE TO PLAY GOLF, NOT FISH

If you are retrieving your ball from a waterway, please do so quickly. Do not spend 5 minutes restocking your bag with golf balls

8: AT GLGC WE PLAY READY GOLF

9: ONCE AGAIN, AT GLGC WE PLAY READY GOLF

when you are ready to play your shot, play it (as long as it is safe to do so) pennants and matchplay have an order of play, it does not apply to our Saturday and Sunday competitions.

10: WHENEVER POSSIBLE, PUTT OUT

marking a one foot putt when you are not interfering with someone’s line to finish that putt is time consuming, be careful and tap it in.

It is nice to see that some members have taken notice of the above, but many still choose to ignore the requirements and just dawdle round the course. Therefore I am posting the message again and will continue to “nag” members until the above is common practice.
