Green’s Keepers Revenge

Green’s Keepers Revenge

This Saturday is “The Greenkeepers Revenge” and we have a lot of sponsors to thank – Total Tools, The Pedlar, Ainslie Football Club, Gungahlin Lakes Golf Pro Shop, Living Turf, Greengold Nursey, Woolworths, Pure Gelato and Capital Tools. All these businesses have provided donations and gift vouchers to help us raise money for The Jarrod Lyle Charity Challenge – making a difference and help children and families living with cancer.

FASHIONS ON THE FIELD

Yellow is the dominant colour of the Jarrad Lyle Charity Challenge, and as such we want as many people as possible in yellow. The group of 3/4 deemed the best dressed (however that is defined on the day) will win a $200 gift voucher to The Pedlar – Campbell’s first pub. The individual that is judged best dressed will win a $100 gift voucher from the Ainslie Football Club.

RUMOURS

We can assure all players of the following:

  1. The 12th hole will become a par 7! The tee will be the 12th tee box (ignore the 12th green), and simply putt out on the 13th green.
  2. “ain’t she a beauty” will be moored in all its splendour in Gungahlin Harbour. Gold coin donation is all it takes for one short chip – the ball must stay in the boat (and verified by an independent witness). The winner or winners will take home half the pot – the other half goes to The Jarrod Lyle Charity Challenge.
  3. The Hay Bales are back!!! this time they will be on the 15th.
  4. Practice your opposite hand drives
  5. The winner of the event may not necessarily win a prize…but the person who comes second-to-last will definitely win a prize

No more hints at this time.

Golf Club Annual Report 2022…

Members

Your Committee is pleased to present the Golf Club’s Annual Report for 2022 (see the link below).  Please take some time to read through the various reports, in preparation for the Annual General Meeting scheduled for 7.00 pm on Tuesday 22 November in the Spike Bar.

Drinks and hot snacks will be served from 6.30 pm, until the commencement of the meeting.  It would be great to see members attend and hear short reports from various Committee members on the operation of the club for the reporting period.

2022 Greenkeeper’s Revenge and Presentation lunch

2022 Greenkeeper’s Revenge and Presentation lunch

Saturday 19 November sees our Greenkeeper’s Revenge event followed by lunch and our GLGC annual golf presentations. Timesheets will open at 7:00pm this Saturday. A fee of $30 per person for golf and lunch will be required at time of booking. Therefore, if you are booking for other people you will need to pay for all players to secure their spot.

The event will be a shotgun start at 8:30am. A sit down lunch is included in the entry fee, consisting of alternative serves of beef and chicken dishes. If you have special dietary requirements, please email glgcwomen@gmail.com by Wednesday 16 November.

Table seating will be according to your starting tee number, ie if you tee off on 14th, you will sit at the table with number 14 on it (some tables will be combined numbers).

For members who are unable to play golf but would like to attend the lunch and presentation, there are a limited number of seats available for you to purchase a ticket. Please email glgcwomen@gmail.com to confirm a ticket. A committee member will be in touch with bank details to secure your booking.

As previously advised, this is a fun day. There will be prizes on the day, however they may not reflect great golf scores! Money raised on the day will go to the Jarrod Lyle Foundation, supporting kids with cancer. Along with fundraising during the day there will be a fashions on the field prize, with the caveat being that the winner/s must be wearing yellow!

The day will be partially subsidised by the Golf Committee. A lot of work has been put in to prepare the course for the day, and huge thanks to Shane and his team and Mark Hynes, head of greens committee.
