The Member’s Handbook containing the schedule of events for 2023 will be published shortly on the club’s Website and notified to this effect on our Facebook page. Talking of Facebook, I would encourage those who don’t access our site to become a member, to ensure you are seeing the messages and information published. Our moderators are: Tracey Banister, Abul Rizvi and Wayne Bennett. You will find the contact details for these folks in the Members Directory on the Website and they will be able to help you access the site if you would like to see the comments from members and stay up-to-date.
We had the Annual General Meeting on 22 November. I would have like to see more members in attendance but, I accept that this type of meeting is not of interest to everyone. At the meeting we talked through issues associated with:
- Committee sub-committees – who on the Committee would lead the various areas of work with the above agreed as the various leads.
- The Course Management Plan 2023-28 – A draft revised plan was tabled and discussed in the context of areas of priority for work to be done on the course during the coming years but in particular in 2023. These priorities will be notified to members in the coming weeks.
- The charities to be supported by the club during 2023 – It was agreed that these would be:
- Breast Cancer – our Wear-it-pink day
- Prostate Cancer – money to go to the Cancer Council ACT day/date to be agreed
- Jarod Lyle Foundation – Green Keepers Revenge game
- Legacy – this is our Digger’s Cup event
- Junior’s funding and a Guidance Statement in support of small grants the club (with the support of Ainslie) can make to our developing junior players. A Guidance statement is being refined and will be notified to members in the coming weeks.
- Xmas Hamper – value of prizes to be awarded on the day of the event (10 December)
On a final note, our very best wishes to you and your families and safe travels if you are heading out of Canberra over the holiday period.
Best wishes.
Richard Oliver/President
