Greens Update

Greens Update

Hello all members.

Just an advisory note. The greens staff fertilised our greens on Monday 4th September (after mowing and rolling). It appears that modern, controlled release fertilisers take a lot longer to “break down”. Irrigation usually breaks the outer coating down after 5 minutes – this has not been the case this week – and as such, the greens were watered this morning – but not mowed or rolled as this would have crushed the fertiliser still present on the surface and would have had a detrimental, long lasting consequence to the playing surface. We apologise for this inconvenience- but there is a couple of days of short term pain – for long term gains.
