Motorised buggy battery charging

Motorised buggy battery charging

Members,

A number of recent fires at Australian Golf Clubs has generated a response from Insurance companies. Ainslie has indicated that insurance for the charging and storage of golf buggy batteries is not covered and all members must cease any charging or storage of batteries at Gungahlin Lakes.
I don’t think this ruling affects too many members and I think the science of battery charging in particular will continue to evolve and we can revisit the option in the future.

2024 Lakeball event this Saturday

2024 Lakeball event this Saturday

Our annual Lakeball event will be held this Saturday 6 January. The event is an 8:30am shot gun start and we have a full field registered.  If you have registered and don’t intend to play, please cancel your booking to allow any people on the wait list to play.

Entry fee is $12 and there will be a free sausage sizzle afterwards – many thanks to our Golf Committee for putting on the BBQ.

The usual Lakeball format will be used for the event. For those new to Lakeball, it’s a fun Ambrose style and all teams will get a handout with the rules prior to heading out on the course.

PLEASE NOTE: If possible, we’d like everyone to pay the comp fee PRIOR to Saturday to make it easier for the Pro Shop staff.

Greenkeepers Revenge and the Jarrod Lyle Foundation

Greenkeepers Revenge and the Jarrod Lyle Foundation

We are thrilled to announce that the Gungahlin Lakes golf community – via the Greenkeepers Revenge – has come together to raise an impressive $2550 in support of the Jarrod Lyle Foundation. Through a series of generous donations, sales of various products and the unwavering commitment of our golf enthusiasts, we have achieved this remarkable milestone. The funds will play a pivotal role in advancing the foundation’s mission to raise ongoing funds to support children and families living with cancer.

Please remember to thank and support the business that contributed to making this day a success:

  • FITREP – personal training Studio
  • Hotel Queanbeyan
  • OH NO!
  • The Pedlar
  • Supersmile Orthodontist
  • Woolworths
  • The Ainslie Group
  • CIAO
  • Total Tools
  • Gungahlin Lakes Pro Shop

This achievement exemplifies the power of unity and underscores our collective dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of those facing health challenges. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this meaningful cause.

Vandalism of ball washers

Vandalism of ball washers

The majority of the ball washers around the course have been subject to excessive vandalism. These don’t come cheap, at $180 a pop. We won’t be replacing them for a few months, and hopefully in that time the novelty of the destructive behaviour will wear off for whomever is responsible. We will revisit the issue in Autumn.
