Facebook Group for Members

Facebook Group for Members

A closed Facebook Group has been established to help strengthen the GLGC member community. This Group is private to members and provides an easy to use online platform where members can:

  • discuss issues of common interest (eg the redevelopment of the 14th hole)
  • ask questions and receive responses (from other members) on matters such as golf rulings; upcoming events; etc
  • buy and sell second hand golf equipment (eg members could post a photo of a second hand golf club they want to sell and receive responses from interested members)
  • ask for partners for team events
  • generally discuss day to day golf matters, post golf photos (eg from pennants or other golfing events), golf jokes, etc.

To join the Group you must have a Facebook account. Use your Facebook account to send a message to the Group to join (the name of the Group is ‘Gungahlin Lakes Golf Members’) or email Abul Rizvi on abulrizvi1@gmail.com – he will discuss arrangements to enable you to join.

By joining the Group, please note that you agree you will not make any posts to the Group that are contrary to the GLGC Code of Conduct. In essence, you must not make any posts that are disrespectful of other members; are in any way defamatory of anyone; or contrary to copyright laws. When alerted to such material, it will be taken down from the Group timeline.

Please encourage your GLGC member friends to also join and use the Group to discuss golf related matters.

Compulsory Call Up on 3rd Hole

Compulsory Call Up on 3rd Hole

The Golf Committee has deemed that the Par 3, 3rd hole be a compulsory call up hole.  It is anticipated that compulsory call up will speed up play through the hole with the added benefit that players at the green will spot wayward tee strokes.

When your group’s balls are all on the green if the group following is waiting on the tee

  • MOVE TO THE SAFETY FENCE AT REAR OF THE GREEN
  • CALL UP THE GROUP WAITING ON THE TEE.

New signage will be placed near the tee and green in the week commencing 18 April.
